Mother’s Day

We spent mother’s day in NC this year and with my mom and my grandma! It was nice to have 4 generations celebrating together. I got some special treats from Clay and the boys, and enjoyed spending some time alone with Clay on Sunday morning while the boys played with Nana and Pop Pop.

Next up was going out for lunch at Lucky 32. It was amazing! Henry ate fancy pork rinds. I think that says it all.

I also went to a Mother’s Day tea at George’s school, they sang a song and we had a lovely tea party! 🙂

Keela’s Graduation

We went down to NC for Keela’s college graduation this past weekend. It was great! She did amazing (of course), graduating with a BS in environmental science. The ceremony was lovely! We went out for Italian afterwards and enjoyed being with family. Both sets of grandparents even made the trip down! We loved spending time with them.

Cair Paravel’s Airstream in Trees

What a gorgeous weekend we spent in Stanardsville, VA at a adorable farm with an airstream in the woods.  We needed a get away for just the four of us and boy, did we have a wonderful weekend. The host provided us with food right from their farm (eggs, pork, veggies and fresh baked bread). We took lots of walks through the woods and spent some time on the farm with the animals. It was lovely to get away and I would go back to that place in a heartbeat.

We also went to Early Mountain Vineyard which had breathtaking scenery, wine and food. Clay and I sat with wine and a cheese plate while the kids played in the grass. Perfect.

The boys were in heaven, playing the mud, cuddling with goats, collecting eggs, making s’mores and did I mention playing in the mud? They were so filthy–which I take as a sign that we are doing something right!

Trip to the Farmhouse

Another great weekend at the Carlyle Farmhouse! The weather was perfect and we had a great time with the Carlyles and the Zeitlers. Nicole brought her cousin who is in her mid twenties and has curly hair. On Sunday morning George asked where Pierce’s Nana was, the one with the hair? We all got a kick out of it, but it is also a great compliment to George’s Nana! 🙂 Luckily, nicole’s cousin has a good sense of humor.

We also got out in the boats and enjoyed some lazy floats down the river. We love being out in WV!

CPNS Update

George has loved his time at CPNS. He has made some friends and learned a lot of new things. We won’t be returning next year because its a little difficult to manage with a full time job and how much is expected of parents (it is a co-op). We will miss it!

Monument Visit

Auntie Keela came for a visit and we had a lovely and relaxing weekend. We took a trip down to the monument (well, the idea was the cherry blossoms, but they were totally done). George loved the monument, Henry slept through the visit. He woke up in time for a delicious lunch at the Museum of The American Indian–which is one of my favorite spots in DC. We also took a quick trip to Air and Space.

Fireworks Party

The Carlyles had a huge party to view the Hyattsville 129 year celebration fireworks. The kids ran around in a pack and could not have had more fun. There was so much delicious food, a bubble machine and a fire with s’mores. What a way to start off the spring weather.

The kids were really excited about the fireworks, until they started. Then most of them freaked out. George, however, was super brave and watched the entire show. Henry was scared at first, but once he was on my lap he was just fine.
