Friday Favs: A Visit to Daddy’s Work!

Every morning George asks about Daddy and I say he is at work. And George asks to see Daddy at work. Well, one day, I decided to take the boys to see their daddy working. George was SO excited to ride on the train (metro). He loved going over the water and seeing the monument.

George was a tad disappointed that Daddy didn’t have an excavator at work. But he got over it when he got to play with his phone.

Hyattsville Carnival!

After a whirlwind trip to PA, we made a quick stop at the carnival before it closed. George did amazing! He rode all the rides with no fear. Even when he got his finger stuck in one of the holes on a ride (which cut him when the attendant tried to pull him out of the seat) he was over it in a minute and on to the next ride!

He even got in the bounce house and bounced with the big kids. One of the big kids threw him over a wall he was struggling with–I ran to the other side and he was laying there laughing and laughing! He is getting braver. What fun!

Springtime–Finally!

We finally got some outside time! We reseeded the yard, I painted a table and George and Henry played their little hearts out! George loves his new sandbox and Henry thinks the swing is just about the best thing ever.

Friday Favs: Build a bear!

George and I had a mommy/son date at  build a bear. We had a great time making “Woof.” He picked everything himself–he had a really hard time deciding which ball woof should have. He really wanted to get a pink car for Woof, but it was a little too pricey for Mom’s taste!

Hyattsville Egg Hunt

One of my favorite activities–The Hyattsville Egg Hunt–was last weekend. George and I did a quick egg hunt boot camp in the morning and he did awesome. He got a ton of eggs, with no help from us, even in a huge crowd of kids and adults. I was so proud.

We at some pancakes in the morning and then played at the park before the big hunt. George also LOVES the Easter Bunny. He talks about him constantly and followed him around at the event.

PA Visit

We went to PA a few weekends ago and George was in heaven! He got to ride a tractor, which is all he had been talking about for weeks (since he found out that pappy had a tractor). He also got to hunt easter eggs, take a nap with mommy and eat lots of candy. Can you think of a better weekend for a 2 year old?

And Henry got all the cuddles he loves! My boy is like his momma–he craves attention and hugs!

Friday Favs: Sharing a Room!

Henry and George are now officially sharing a room! Its very cute to have them both in there sleeping. We rearranged the nursery a little to fit in the new crib. Since that room is so big, it wasn’t very hard to make it work.

The original plan was to move George to a toddler bed and move Henry into the existing crib. However, George is still sleeping SO well in the crib and has never tried to climb out. Its enough having Henry move into the room–we didn’t need any additional stresses! So, we decided just to get another crib. Both cribs convert to small toddler beds, so we will just do that as they get older.

We noticed that George was a little jealous that Henry got to stay in our room when he had to go to his room at bedtime. So, we started putting Henry down in there, too. George loves it. They are not disturbed by each other, its working out very well. George is much happier.

They both start out the night in there after bedtime stories, but Henry always ends up in our bed by morning! 🙂

Yay brothers!

Movie night!

We had the carlyles over for movie night last Friday! We had pizza and popcorn and watched frozen. It was really fun!

George does super well with movies. His attention span is growing all the time. I’ve noticed this in other areas of play (he is very good about finishing stuff when he starts it–sometimes this is hard when we have to do other things!). It was pretty cool to see it in action. And it’s also exciting because I feel very confident that he could sit through a movie at the theater or we could take him to a live show.

Henry only watched for a few minutes, of course. Haha.

George also surprises me with his memory. After he had seen frozen only one time, we would act out sections of the movie. And when we were coloring the other day, he drew a snow man and called him Olaf. He has many of his books memorized and calls me out if I try to skip a page (bad mommy!). Sigh.

So much fun to see my boy growing, changing, learning and becoming a little man!
