Its hard to be a baby

Friday Favs: elmo with daddy

George can’t get enough of elmo these days. He had a relaxing Sunday morning watching elmo on daddy’s phone last weekend.

George loves to play basketball. Inside and out, small hoop or large.

I was out on the patio watching him shoot the ball over and over this weekend. I would clap and cheer for him every time, but if he didn’t make the shot he would turn around, point at me and say, “no!”

It cracked me up.

Ocean City!

Clay, George and I took a little trip to Ocean City, MD a few weekends ago. Clay needed to go for a conference (city council duties) so George and I tagged along for a little while.

George loved the ocean and the sand. We spent a lot of time out of the beach playing and relaxing. We even went to the boardwalk one night. We ate lots of good food and played some games. No rides this year! 🙂

We’ve also realized that George DOES have clay’s skin coloring. He looks pale, but rather than burn like mommy, he gets nice golden brown. But don’t worry–I’m still OBSESSIVE about the sunscreen!!!

7 months pregnant

Hello third trimester! Sometimes I feel so close to being done and other times it feels really far away. Its going to be a HOT summer. I was outside most of the day for the last few days and the heat was rough. Maybe I will move to Iceland for month of August.

We are also very firm on a name at this point. I guess anything could happen, but we are pretty sure it will be:

Henry James Williams

That’s actually the first time I’ve typed it–it looks pretty darn good!

How far along? 28 weeks 4 days

Total weight gain/loss: Now up about 14 pounds–right on track!

Maternity clothes? Yeah. I need to get them organized–think I’m still in denial.

Stretch marks? Nope. No linea nigra yet either. I can’t remember when I got it with George. It was pretty light and went away soon after delivery. Curious to see if I get it this time.

Sleep: Pretty good. Once I get settled in with all my pillows I’m usually good for the night. I’m only getting up to pee sometimes.

Movement: Constantly. He is a KICKER. George was a roller.

Food cravings: Ice cream. Dairy in general seems to be my go-to.

Gender: Big boy.

Belly Button in or out? Half way out.

Wedding rings on or off? On. Never had any swelling with G, so hopefully this will be the same.

What I miss: Not wearing a hip brace! I have to wear this stupid hip brace 24 hours a day or my pubic bone really suffers. It really helps keep my pelvis stable, but its no fun to wear it all the time.

What I am looking forward to: Getting George’s room set up for two! I’ve been thinking about the best way to do it, but its really nice that we don’t have much to do before the baby comes. George will stay in the crib until well after he is born. He doesn’t really seem ready for a toddler bed yet. Henry will be with us until he is at least 6 months, so we are trying to minimize the changes for George as much as possible. Mainly, I just need to set up the second closet for the new one and do some minor rearranging to the changing area. And get out all of the newborn items!!

28 week shot of me:

Friday Favs: July 4th!

We had an amazing Independence day yesterday! I wish I had taken more pics. Sadly, I only got ones of George eating corn at dinner because he was so.darn.cute (and sitting still!). He ate SO MUCH corn. He also ate beans and a whole ‘haute dog’ (from a great local butcher called Red Apron).

The best part of the day was that we didn’t leave the house at all. We just hung around, played outside and did some yard work. We grilled out and George and Clay went on a bike ride. I was bummed I didn’t get to go! After George went to bed Clay and I snuggled up on the couch with a movie and brownie sundaes. Awesome.

5th Haircut!

George got his 5th haircut over the weekend. Clay was out of town so George and I headed out to Pigtails and Crewcuts before Clay could take the beard trimmer to his head again.

George just LOVES that place. They have a train table, he got to sit in an airplane chair and even had his first lollipop. He sat quietly and patiently for his entire haircut–the stylist couldn’t get over it! He only cried when we had to leave, he just wanted to stay and play.

After the haircut I took my handsome boy out on a date. We had a great time eating and playing at Red Robin and even did some shopping at the mall. While we missed daddy very much, it was great to have some alone time with my boy!
