Mother’s Day

I had a wonderful Mother’s day this year! I had breakfast in bed, went to the Botanical Gardens and walked on the mall. We ate a wonderful lunch at one of my favorite restaurants, Jaleo. My gift was an “H” to add to the “G” on my necklace. I’ve been wearing it ever since!

Trip to Apex

The boys and I took a trip to Apex and it was so much fun. We saw Pop Pop, Nana and Auntie Keela. The coolest part was getting to see Keela at work at the conservators center and see all the animals. We saw lions, wolves, tigers and binturongs–just to name a few.

The weather was beautiful all weekend and the boys got tons of playtime.

Springtime–Finally!

We finally got some outside time! We reseeded the yard, I painted a table and George and Henry played their little hearts out! George loves his new sandbox and Henry thinks the swing is just about the best thing ever.

PA Visit

We went to PA a few weekends ago and George was in heaven! He got to ride a tractor, which is all he had been talking about for weeks (since he found out that pappy had a tractor). He also got to hunt easter eggs, take a nap with mommy and eat lots of candy. Can you think of a better weekend for a 2 year old?

And Henry got all the cuddles he loves! My boy is like his momma–he craves attention and hugs!

Friday Favs: Sharing a Room!

Henry and George are now officially sharing a room! Its very cute to have them both in there sleeping. We rearranged the nursery a little to fit in the new crib. Since that room is so big, it wasn’t very hard to make it work.

The original plan was to move George to a toddler bed and move Henry into the existing crib. However, George is still sleeping SO well in the crib and has never tried to climb out. Its enough having Henry move into the room–we didn’t need any additional stresses! So, we decided just to get another crib. Both cribs convert to small toddler beds, so we will just do that as they get older.

We noticed that George was a little jealous that Henry got to stay in our room when he had to go to his room at bedtime. So, we started putting Henry down in there, too. George loves it. They are not disturbed by each other, its working out very well. George is much happier.

They both start out the night in there after bedtime stories, but Henry always ends up in our bed by morning! 🙂

Yay brothers!

Henry tries Solids!

When Henry turned 6 months we decided to try solids. He loves to eat–so surprise there. He has had bananas, avocado, peas and mango so far. And he is eating oatmeal, too. He likes it all. So different than George!

I got this exciting machine that makes food bags, which is great for daycare. I can just freeze up a ton of food and its easy transport. They tell me he is eating very well at Sunshine as well!

Henry’s Hair CUT

While Henry had crazy adorable hair, we had to get it trimmed. It was getting completely out of control and was getting in his eyes, stuck to his face with snot and drool and just generally in his way. He was constantly rubbing his eyes to get it out. I can tell he is so much more comfortable now!

We went to our favorite place, Pigtails and Crewcuts. Both boys got hair cuts. It was George’s 10th haircut, so his was 1/2 price! 🙂

George did just fine, of course, but Henry was not thrilled at all! He cried for most of it. The stylist was super patient and we got a really cute cut, even through his tears. Poor guy. Five months is just too young. The next one will be better, when he can sit up well unsupported.

Everyone at the salon made a huge deal out of how much hair he has (not just how crazy it was). The lady who cut it said she had never seen a young baby with such thick and long hair–I even braided it. He even beat out George, which I didn’t think was possible. Henry’s hair is also darker and a totally different texture.

Check out George’s first cut at 7.5 months HERE.

And check out my total stroke of brilliance in dressing them in the same outfit. Yup. I’m good.
