Trip to GA-Part 2: Homesick
George was pretty homesick while we were in GA. My boy missed his daddy, but also his actual home. Its very interesting seeing this development in my little guy. Henry couldn’t care less where he is as long as the boobs are there. But George really likes routine and the comfort of his home. He played well and was 98% of the time, but he would ask where daddy was and if we could go to ‘his home.’ He wanted his own toys, bed and bathtub, too.
Once, we were outside and he started walking away and I asked where he was going and he said, “I’m walking to my house.”
He had such a good time, but was very ready to be home and see his daddy! He is becoming such a little person!
Trip to GA: Part 1
We had a lovely trip to GA to visit our friends Evelina and Elias. It was just me and the boys and we flew down, so it was quite an endeavor. But while exhausting, its went very smoothly. The boys were total sweethearts. And I would fly any day with George. He just watched his video and hung out (henry did not just hang out–nonono).
The trip was Thurs-Sun and we just relaxed at their house and played, inside and out. The boys got along so well together. Henry kept up with the big boys pretty well!
We also went and saw Aunt Eugenia and she was so darn sweet with the boys! George even got some matchbox cars that he is totally in love with. And both boys got some brand new shoes. George has been talking about her ever since. 🙂
We can’t wait to see them all again soon!
Henry learns to walk
Henry has been ALL over the the place lately. He started by climbing up on things and taking a few steps here and there–but as of Nov 11th, he is truly walking! And this kid–when he decides he wants to do something–there is no stopping him. With just a week of walking under his belt he can practically run, while carrying a toy or book! Or a huge broom!
He loves following the big boys around. I love seeing him upright! Its just as much fun the second time around.
New Skills
George is learning so many new skills these days. Dressing himself (when he wants to), drawing, letters, numbers. I can’t believe he is almost 3! He is so very strong willed, but can be really helpful and self sufficient when he wants to! 🙂
Farmhouse Weekend!
The day after Halloween, we headed up to the Carlyle’s farmhouse for the weekend. After getting some hard news on Halloween (Clay was laid off), it was great to get away from the weekend and have sometime to recharge with good friends. We had a fire, watched videos and relaxed. We took walks and the kids had some great adventures. And yes, Cory sawed wood with a baby strapped to him.
I hope we have lots more farmhouse visits in our future! Its so gorgeous out there.
Halloween 2014
What a Halloween! The boys dressed up as Jake (of Neverland Pirates fame) and Henry was Skully, Jake’s parrot.
We went the the neighborhood gathering and ate some pizza before heading out for trick or treating. We hit a bunch of houses around the park, then headed home and Henry and Clay manned our door to hand out candy. George wanted to keep going, so out we went. He would say, ‘The lights are on! They have treats!’
He went up to the doors all by himself, knocked and said trick or treat. And he said thank you to each person. I was so proud of him! He was so polite and answered questions and didn’t get shy. What a little man!
He did truly love every minute of it.
But first, lets take a look at the last two Halloweens! A lion in 2012, and a dinosaur and an egg in 2013.
Pumpkin Carving
We carved the family pumpkin on the Sunday before Halloween. George LOVED it. He wasn’t afraid of the slimy insides and got right in there! We lit it up every night. Halloween is just getting more and more fun as the kids get older!
