George Grows

My handsome fellow is growing up so much. His imagination is blooming, his language skills are incredible. He can count to 11, draw shapes, recognize letters and speak a fair amount of Spanish. He sings full songs where you can hear almost all the words.

Although with all of these new developments comes adjustments. He is learning that his action have consequences. Clay and I are trying to be very intentional–including a long conversation on the drive back from NC on how to implement time outs. Right now we are just using them for one specific offence (not coming when called).

George is quickly learning what is acceptable behavior and what is not. Whether not he chooses to follow the rules is a totally different issue.

Trip to NC

We took a fun little trip to NC. Mom, Keela and I went to the spa. We also celebrated Keela’s birthday and met her boyfriend, Will. We had a great time! I miss it so much!

We went to the spa overnight and it was hard to be away from Henry–although I slept 6 hours in a row for the first time in 5 months.  Henry nurses SO much at night–check out how much I pumped after 6 hours–thats 12 ounces pumped in 10 minutes!!

Friday Favs: Pap and Nana Hays

George loves his Pap and Nana Hays! They came for a visit last weekend and George was in heaven. Nana brought him a huge piece of posterboard and he laid on the floor coloring with them for hours. They played cars, trains and even did some cooking.

First Day at Daycare!

Henry had his first day of daycare on Feb 3rd. Previously, he had been with a nanny at home. It was a hard transition for me, but Henry is doing great. We feel so lucky that we are able to send Henry to the same daycare that George goes to. George really likes having him there and I can see them getting closer. Plus, we know and trust our caregivers already so there was no adjustment.

He is much more sleepy at night! But other than that, he is doing wonderfully.

Neighborhood babies!

We have so many babies in this neighborhood! There are at least 25 kids in George’s age group and about 20 (so far) in Henry’s . We have been having brunches with the babies that are Henry’s age. Here are just a few of the little ones that were at the last brunch! The next one will be at our house in a few weeks. 🙂

Ice Skating!

George and I did some ice skating. Well, I did some ice skating and George moved on the ice holding onto his penguin and looking a little worried. His favorite part was getting ice cream after. He thought the sprinkles all over his face were hilarious. And his favorite flavor is chocolate, just like his daddy.

He did awesome for being so little and we are going to do lessons next fall! So excited.
