Its hard to be a baby

The Great Nurse In

on August 8, 2012

George and I headed over to the Great Nurse In on saturday morning with some neighborhood friends. We met up with some other friends there, too. It was such a fun day to raise awareness about public nursing and access to pumping facilities at work.

Nursing has been so wonderful for me (after a very rocky start), so it was fun to hang other mamas and nurse George. They came around and counted us, too! We had to raise our hand while we were nursing to be counted. George didn’t care–he was chowing down!

The best part, was that they were very supportive of all methods of feeding babies. There were lots of moms who talked about supplementing with formula, had a variety of nursing times and had latch problems. They had some children’s singers, too. One of them sang about how it doesn’t matter how you feed your baby-as long as they are happy and healthy. I love nursing, but cannot stand nursing elitism, so was happy that it was handled this way.
